Atlanta Pet Rescue does everything within its power to reduce the number of dogs and cats that are euthanized in metro Atlanta. We rescue most of our dogs and cats from area shelters and once rescued, they are vaccinated, treated for intestinal and external parasites and are spayed or neutered.
Doing what they can to reduce the likelihood of adoptable cats and dogs being euthanized, Atlanta Pet Rescue and Adoption works with other rescue groups, shelters and animal control facilities throughout Georgia to rescue highly adoptable dogs and cats.

Atlanta Animal Rescue | Best Friends Animal Society
The Animal Services Division is managed by a non-profit organization whose programs strengthen the entire animal welfare community by promoting homeless pet adoption, providing affordable spay/neuter services, increasing public awareness, and advocating for lifesaving public policy. The animal services division provides humane care for the animals at the shelter, veterinary care including spay/neuters, pet adoptions, animal reclaims, volunteers, foster homes and rescue group coordination. Since taking over management of DeKalb County Animal Services (DCAS) and Fulton County Animal Services in 2013, thousands of lives have been saved and adoptions have been increased by 300% at DCAS alone. Read more about how we’re transforming Atlanta into a no-kill community .Since 2002, LifeLine Animal Project's work has always been to end the needless euthanasia of adoptable dogs and cats in Atlanta's shelters. LifeLine opened our own shelter, then two spay/neuter clinics, and created many outreach programs to help pets at risk, but even with thousands of pets helped, Atlanta was still struggling with incredibly low save-rates in its county shelters. We strive to make Atlanta a better place for our homeless pets, our rescue partners and shelters as well as all of the loving, adoptive homes out there! Please consider joining our team as a foster familiy!! WE NEED YOU!The Village Vets practices are very proud to be associated with many of Atlanta's pet rescue organizations and shelters, some of which are listed below.
