CAUTION! Other reptile species may be poor choices for pets.
Pets such as dogs and , though beloved by millions, require a lot of attention. Reptiles don’t.
Well… this isn’t right at all. Why have you lumped entire suborders (like snakes) into one way of caring, then specified “Iguanas” (which are known to be bad pets) then broadened again to an entire family of geckos (which some DO make good pets) and then broadened even more to an entire order! Please note that you have neglected to mention any good pet reptiles, such as bearded dragons, blue tongued skinks, crested or leopard geckos, kingsnakes, cornsnakes or anything else! This is just stupid propaganda. There are good pet reptiles out there, and there are EVEN SOME GOOD KEEPERS. I do believe that someone should have a license to keep a dangerous animal, but not something that is as harmless as a gecko! Also, salmonella is generally not contracted through reptiles, you’re more likely to get it from peanut butter!!
Some reptiles and amphibians can produce venoms or toxins as a means of protection. These substances are dangerous to humans and should be considered when purchasing a new pet. Read more about the dangers of venoms and toxins of reptiles and amphibians on the Prevention tab.

Crepuscular in nature, they are the most active during twilight around dusk and dawn. Due to their gentle and docile temperament, leopard geckos are one of the best reptile pets for handling. They are usually skittish when they are young, but they become much more docile and calm as they get older. The current staff is knowledgeable and helpful. The tanks look clean and animals look well taken care of, even though it does smell lizard-y when you first walk in. I’ve never been to a reptile pet store that didn’t smell, so that can’t be helped. I would recommend checking this place out for good food/supplies for reptiles and fish.Other Pets At our reptile store, we carry monitors, turtles, tortoises, frogs and toads, a wide variety of snakes, and other hard-to-find reptiles from around the world.
