Professional Pet Clipper Kit For Dog, Cat Grooming Trimmer Low Noise Rechargeable Animals Shaver Haircut Machine AC110-220V
Dog hair clippers that are roaring loudly, vibrating uncontrollably like a broken radiator, and make your hand feel like it’s dipping in a pool of hot lava when you hold them were the only clippers available to pet owners for a while. But, as modern technology has improved, so has clipping and tools such as these. These clippers are usable on the face because of their quietness and lack of vibration—not surprisingly, dogs don’t want a screeching, shaking thing in their face.
Wahl dog hair clippers cut through mats and even can do full-body shaves on your dog (but you should go to a groomer for that). These professional dog clippers are versatile enough to get into delicate areas while also powerful enough to get through tough-to-clip sections of your pet's hair.

This short video show how you can shave your long haired cat at home and save some money at the same time. I used a cordless shaver that is quite powerful and quiet. They are the Wahl Arco SE Limited Edition Cordless Clippers which I would definitely recommend to anyone. Try to always shave with the grain of the hair and not against it because not only will you not get a consistent look there is more of a chance of nicking your pet. I shaved Mr. Snuffles myself but he is a mellow cat and you will probably want a helper when you try it. I would highly suggest cutting their nails beforehand as well. I am not a groomer and have no prior experience with pet grooming other than reading the directions that come with the clippers and some trial and error. Always read all directions that come with whatever clippers you purchase and shave your pets at your own risk.Learning how to use dog clippers is a skill that every pet owner should know. There are certain breeds that require regular haircuts, and knowing how to do it at home can save you a lot on professional grooming expenses. Even if your dog doesn't need a haircut, you may need to shave a small patch of his fur at some point.
"Once you've selected the clippers that are best for your pet's coat, you also need to think about how comfortable they are for you. Choose a lightweight set that won't make your hand and arm tired after only a few minutes of grooming."

Annmarie, you can use a less heavy duty clipper for a poodle with fine hair, but the real downfall is that most of these models (marketed specifically to pet owners through places like Petco) do not have interchangeable blades. Therefore, if the blade goes dull, you can't sharpen it, and you also have to rely on combs for a longer length, which can be frustrating unless your dog is perfectly combed out. The combs often get stuck on a matt and yank off of the clipper head, and then you end up cutting a huge super short gash in areas you were trying to leave the hair longer. Again, you do have choices with a fine haired dog like a poodle, but I like to stress that in grooming tools, you "get what you pay for". Glad you are going to try it, good luck, you can do it!
