Pet sitters, groomers, dog walkers, and trainers all provide excellent care. Use this tipping guide to say thank you.
When instances like these happen, it is customary to leave at least 30% tip or possibly even more. You should also think about tipping your dog groomer a little bit more during . This is a great way to show them that you appreciate all that they do for you and your pet throughout the year, and maintain a good relationship with your groomer.
Obviously, just like with everything else, first you must be satisfied with the service that you have received before tipping a dog groomer. If your dog is still stinky or did not get the treatment that you previously discussed with your pet groomer, you should make your disappointment known and obviously no tip needs to be given.
Do you tip the groomers at Petsmart
Do You Tip Your Groomer, Dog Walker, or Pet Sitter? - Dogster
1-My pet groomer is also the owner of her business. I know etiquette says you're not supposed to tip the business owner but I do anyway. She does a great job, has shown a LOT of patience with my dog who was always terrified to get her nails clipped. We've been going to the same lady for a few years now and my dog is MUCH calmer now when it's done, and it's all due to the groomer. I not only want to show my appreciation but I don't want her to go out of business! I think if I was insulting her she'd have told me by now, but a friend of mine insists I'm committing a terrible faux pax. The groomer does not have any employees as far as I know, it's always just her when I go in. What do y'all think? My DD is a groomer at Petsmart in SC and very few ppl tip. More tipped when she worked in NY. Dog grooming is a very tough job, she often gets bit, etc. Also, if your dog is matted, it costs more. Matts are very painful for dogs, especially between the toes and if you don't allow your groomer to shave the dog down, they have to litterally rip the matts out and it's very painful for the dog. A good groomer is more than just a talented cutter, it should be a person who truly loves animals and is kind to them - not just in it for the money. Many groomers act all nice in front of the customer, but can be very mean to your dog behind the scenes. If you find one you like and trust, stick with her and tip her well. It will be worth it in the long run. Also, your dogs first grooming experience often sets the scenerio for all future groomings. If your dog is treated roughly and gets frightened, it will most likely be hard to groom from that point forward.Yes please tip at Petsmart! They don't make that much money off the cut, like 30% or something maybe and I dont think they get an hourly wage, just like a hairstylist. My cousin groomed Vanessa Hudgens dog and she didn't tip! My cousin was pretty upset, cause you would think a celebrity could give atleast $5-10. Petsmart and Petco groomers are still groomers. They work in a big box store. That does not mean that they shouldn’t be tipped. At Petco when you bring your dog in they’ll hand you a ticket to bring to the cash register. This removes the paying aspect from the grooming salon section. This confuses a lot of people. But, you should still tip them.
