Asheville Humane Society's first "No Pets Left Behind" adoption event was a huge success for participating shelters and rescue groups, resulting in the adoption of over 100 WNC animals. This past Saturday, Asheville Humane Society, Blue Ridge Humane Society, Foothills Humane Society, Macon County Animal Services, Madison County Animal Services and Sarge's Animal Rescue Foundation offered reduced adoption fees with the goal of clearing their shelters.

The mission of the Avery County Humane Society is to help the community respond humanely to the needs of animals. The Society provides a shelter for cats and dogs that are lost, abandoned or unwanted; sponsors rabies clinics; offers access to low-cost spay/neuter services; and partners with the local prison in the New Leash on Life obedience training program.
A non-profit organization dedicated to finding forever homes for displaced or abandoned small breed dogs and educating the public about pet overpopulation, the horrors of puppymills, and the benefits of spaying and neutering. There are many pets at the Animal Services Center who need loving homes. The center always has a variety of cats, kittens, dogs, and puppies and the staff is ready and willing to assist you in your selection. Adoption fees includes rabies vaccination, spay/neuter, microchipping, vaccinations and boarding. The Kershaw County Humane Society is dedicated to providing food, housing, and medical care of all lost or homeless animals brought to the Walter M. Crowe Animal Shelter, and to address the root causes of animal abuse and over population through education and spay/neuter programs. The Yancey County Animal Shelter is a non-profit public animal shelter just 30 miles north of Asheville. A private, non-profit, limited admission shelter located in Boone, NC. They house, rehabilitate, and rehome 1,000 animals yearly. WHS offers low-cost spay/neuter through Humane Alliance. The pooches at the Aloft Asheville Downtown are part of an adoption program run by the hotel and . The organization saves the pets from possibly being put to sleep at area shelters. Asheville Humane Society was formed in 1984 as Buncombe County Friends for Animals Inc., primarily as a governing body for the County Pet Adoption Center and Animal Shelter, which was previously operated by the County. Asheville Humane Society has operated the Shelter since September 1990. In September 2010, Asheville Humane Society, in partnership with Buncombe County, opened the Animal Care Campus. The campus comprises two facilities: Asheville Humane Society Adoption and Education Center and the Buncombe County Animal Shelter. The two facilities sit side by side and work in tandem in a public-private partnership that serves as a national model for other communities hoping to work collaboratively on eradicating animal homelessness.Join us at this all day event to benefit Brother Wolf, The Tiniest of Angels and Asheville Humane Society!
