Through a grant awarded from the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals® (ASPCA®), Albuquerque’s ASPCA Community Partnership was created to increase pet adoptions and decrease owned-animal surrenders city-wide.

Then our Klear the Kennels joint adoption event between Animal Humane New Mexico and Albuquerque Animal Welfare Department is the place to be! From June 4 – 5, all five Albuquerque Community Partner animal shelters are offering $10 adoption fees for all pets over 6 months of age.Albuquerque Animal Welfare Department is hosting a Tear Down Kennel D pet adoption event to find loving homes for our sheltered pets. The adoption fee will be only $5. Animal Welfare will launch the event on Friday, August 26, through Sunday, August 28, at the Eastside, Westside and Lucky Paws Animal Shelters. People will be able to meet the pets and talk to an adoption counselor to get assistance in finding the pet that will fit their family. They are the norm, and just about everywhere – including right here in Albuquerque – there are too many pets and not enough homes choosing to adopt them. Polynesian dance troupe Ka La Kapu and live remote radio broadcasting will be at select locations for this family-friendly event. Save the date and add to your ohana!With the goal of increasing shelter pet adoptions in 2017, Animal Humane New Mexico and the Albuquerque Animal Welfare Department will be hosting three-day Hawaiian themed adoption event called Bow Wow Meow Luau from June 9-11. All pets will be available for a $5 adoption fee, which includes their necessary vaccinations, spay/neuter surgery and microchip. With five locations across the city, the intent of the Community Partnership’s event is to find homes for all pets in Albuquerque animal shelters.
